Lavenham Guild Hall

Located in the centre of historic village of Lavenham, numbersix offers our guests the chance to enjoy all that Lavenham and the surrounding area has to offer.

Lavenham is considered to be the finest and most complete surviving medieval town in England. A walking tour round the village will take you past 300 listed buildings, including the Guildhall and the famous ‘wool’ church of St Peter and St Paul.

There are cosy pink thatched cottages, crooked houses, antique shops, art galleries, tea rooms and inns.

Lavenham also boasts a butchers, bakers, newsagents, chemist, and grocery stores.

The award winning french restaurant The Great House is situated in the Market Square; due to its popularity early booking is necessary if you would like to eat there.

Bury St Edmunds

In one direction your journey will take you to the market town of Bury St Edmunds with a market on Wednesday and Saturday. The cathedral, in the centre of town, with its tower erected to celebrate the millennium is worth a visit, along with the Abbey ruins and the gardens. Try lunch or dinner in Maison Bleue The Great House's sister restaurant.

Leaving Lavenham in the opposite direction you will reach Sudbury, set on the River Stour. You can wander through the water meadows, shop or even swim in the leisure centre. The Secret Garden in Friars Street is excellent for afternoon tea, lunch and evening meals.

Southwold and Aldburgh on the coast are worth a visit and only one hour away.
